From July 25 to August 11, seven cricket players from Pakistan, including captain Babar Azam, will compete in the Global T20 Canada league. In order to show off their skills, these players will be joining different teams in the league.
The Vancouver Knights will be led by Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Rizwan, Asif Ali, and Babar Azam. In the meantime, Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Shah Afridi will be joining the Toronto Nationals. Representing the Bangla Tigers Mississauga will be Iftikhar Ahmed.
Though they were included on Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 roster, the team did not advance to the Super 8 round. These players will have the chance to participate in the Global T20 Canada league, which will increase their exposure to and experience in international cricket.
In addition to these Pakistani celebrities, the league will include former international cricket players like David Warner, Mohammad Nabi, and Sunil Narine. The competition looks to be intense and fierce, with a mix of seasoned players and up-and-coming talent.
The Montreal Tigers, the league’s reigning champions, will be attempting to hold onto their championship. The presence of well-known athletes from throughout the globe, such as the seven cricket players from Pakistan, significantly heightens the excitement and expectation
