In order to give substantial assistance to underprivileged areas, the federal government has increased the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) budget to Rs. 593 billion. This represents a significant 29% increase over the allotment from the prior year.
The Benazir Kafaalat scheme will now have 10 million participants instead of the current 9.3 million, according to announcements made by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. By increasing stipends to reflect inflation, this expansion seeks to give more families access to the necessary financial assistance.
In addition, 10.4 million children will now benefit from the Benazir Education Stipend program, which will help them finish their education and stay in school. The Benazir Nashonuma Program will now encompass an extra 500,000 families in an attempt to fight stunted growth in children.
In order to encourage economic inclusion and self-sufficiency among the underprivileged, BISP is also starting new projects.
These comprise the Poverty Graduation program, which aims to assist families in escaping poverty, the Skill Development program, which will provide training for the workforce, and the Hybrid Social Protection program, which combines financial aid with chances for economic expansion.
These all-encompassing initiatives demonstrate the government’s dedication to combating poverty and providing assistance to marginalized groups, guaranteeing they have access to the tools and chances required to improve their standard of living.
